The term civil litigation can encompass a very wide range of different types of cases, all of which Brearleys can deal with on your behalf.

This can extend from relationship breakdowns and dealing with property, all the way through to boundary disputes and most commonly contract and shareholder disputes.

A good example would be where we have acted for and against companies which includes pursuing a builder for works that have been carried out incorrectly, or incomplete, or even acting for a builder pursuing a client/customer for not paying their bill when the builder has done a good job.

We can deal with both the larger and smaller claims and have acted for Clients in the Small Claims Court for civil litigation cases of a few thousand pounds all the way up to cases worth in the hundreds of thousands and even millions of pounds.

In situations where a Judgement has already been obtained by you, we can also deal with enforcement of that Judgement if the person who you have got the Judgement against does not want to pay you the amount of the Judgement which ultimately leaves you with a very expensive piece of paper!

The large array of funding options available perhaps sets us apart from some of the larger Firms, as we very commonly take cases on a no win no fee or no-win low fee basis whether they be Small Claims Court matters all the way up to cases worth in the hundreds of thousands or millions of pounds. In addition, we can offer fixed fee packages as well as hourly rate fees for the appropriate cases after a risk assessment has taken place by us at the initial stage.

Where cases are taken on a no win no fee basis, we have the appropriate connections to be able to offer after the event insurance to protect you in the event that your claim is successful and you are liable to pay the other sides costs, and we can discuss with you premiums for this type of insurance cover at the appropriate time.
