Employment Law – Payslips

Changes coming into force 6th April 2019 .

As at above date all workers must receive a payslip not just employees . The number of hours worked must be indicated on payslips where the pay varies, by the amount of time worked. Where pay is fixed and does not vary employers have no new obligations.  When workers are paid on an hourly rate the hours worked have to be shown on the payslip . If a salaried employee works overtime this also has to be shown on the payslip. An employee or worker who believes the payslip does not show the required information can bring an Employment Tribunal Claim . These new obligations are not retrospective and do not apply prior to 6th April 2019.
