Shrink Wrap Safety

Shrink wrap is very useful. It is particularly useful when it comes to keeping loads on pallets stable, which is why Mr W’s employers used to shrink wrap every load before it was moved.

Unfortunately as part of a review of working practice it was decided that that was no longer necessary. As Mr W was moving a pallet, the load collapsed and trapped his hand and arm, causing him to suffer injuries, and to need time off work.

After Mr W spoke with us we put his claim to his employers. We pointed out that it was the change in working practice that had caused the accident to happen.

They have accepted this, and as a result Mr W will be compensated for what happened including all the wages he lost whilst he was off.
