Child Protection Plans
If the Local Authority are concerned about the welfare of your child, they may carry out a child protection investigation, and following on from that a child protection conference may be held. A child protection conference is a meeting that is attended by you (the parents), your child themselves (if it is appropriate), any other family members and all professionals involved with your family (school, health, social care, etc). The purpose of the conference is to discuss your child’s future safety, health and development, and whether your child is at risk of serious harm, and whether they should be placed on a Child Protection Plan.
You are entitled to take a solicitor with you to a Child Protection Conference, but they are there to support you and advise you before and after the meeting; they cannot speak on your behalf. Please contact us on 01924 927187 or by email: [email protected] or [email protected] and we can discuss this with you..
